The International Association of Gaming Regulators (IAGR) and NAGRA filed an amicus brief asking the U.S. Supreme Court to review sports event contracts traded on exchanges registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The brief asks the Court to resolve conflicting lower-court rulings on the issue.

A Supreme Court ruling would settle the legal status of CFTC-registered sports event contracts nationwide, ending the current patchwork of conflicting lower-court decisions that has left platforms and state regulators uncertain about which framework applies.
